Puppy Foster Heroes
Provide a safe, loving environment for puppies while they grow, receive vaccinations, learn basic manners, and prepare for adoption. Expect lots of energy, playtime, and puppy cuddles.
Socialization Foster Heroes
Help shy, timid, or under-socialized dogs build confidence and learn how to navigate everyday life. These fosters play a critical role in helping dogs become comfortable with people, homes, routines, and new experiences.
Medical Recovery Foster Heroes
Offer a quiet place for dogs recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or medical treatment. Lucky Dog provides medical guidance while you provide rest, comfort, and TLC.
Pre-Transport Foster Heroes
Provide temporary housing for dogs scheduled to travel to adoption partners or forever homes. These short-term placements help ensure dogs are healthy, rested, and ready for their next journey.
Breed-Specific Foster Heroes
Some dogs have unique traits, energy levels, or training needs associated with their breed. Breed-specific fosters help us better understand and showcase these dogs while providing breed-appropriate care and enrichment.
3 Days Away Foster Heroes
Take a Lucky Dog home for a weekend or a few days. This gives shelter dogs a much-needed break, reduces stress, provides valuable information about how they behave in a home, and often results in great photos and stories that help them get adopted.
Foster-to-Adopt Heroes
Thinking about adopting but want to make sure it's the right fit? Foster-to-adopt allows a family and dog to get to know each other before making a permanent commitment, creating a smoother transition for everyone involved.
