The 3-3-3 Rule

 Let's play a game.

If you've adopted a dog before, tell us:

  • At what point did you realize they weren't "the dog" anymore. They were YOUR dog?

    • Was it when they followed you into the bathroom?

    • Started greeting you at the door?

    • Claimed your couch?

    • Learned exactly when dinner happens?

The 3-3-3 Rule reminds us that dogs need time to settle into a new home.

  1. The first few days can feel uncertain.

  2. The first few weeks are all about learning routines.

  3. And over the following months, something pretty amazing happens:

Trust turns into friendship.

Friendship turns into family.

And before you know it, you've got a shadow with four legs who thinks you're the greatest thing that has ever happened.

That's the magic of giving a dog a second chance.

Take a chance on me ... Abba
Take a chance on me ... Abba
